A homoeopathic paediatrician, a counselling expert and a freelance writer are a few words to describe my profession. My sole aim is to put forth practical piece of information that guides every one right in the direction, blending the medicos to a layman with a simple gesture to make the medical things a little less convoluted and comprehendible.
Motherhood is one of the most wonderful gift nature has bestowed upon women. Although the process is full of hassles and pain, it is worth the effort as when the proud parents see their tiny bundle of joy, they forget everything that went into bringing it into this world. But before you go to the doctor, a woman herself can have some idea as to whether she has conceived or not.
The first indication is when she misses her period. Since menstruation cycle in woman’s body is directly related to the pregnancy, when your body stops menstruating, it means that something has stopped or blocked its flow. This is one sign of getting conceived. In the initial period if you have indeed conceived, the body starts producing more nourishment by increasing the production of progesterone levels in the lining of the uterus. Nausea, vomiting are some of the regular earlier symptoms of getting pregnant. But still they can be due to some other reasons as well.
Here are some other signs through which can identify if you are pregnant or not.
If you have conceived you can experience light spotting which is pinkish or brownish in color during the course of your regular menstruation time. This flow is very light and unlike the menstruation flow which is slow in the beginning, heavy in the middle days and fades away in the end.
If your body has conceived the temperature at ovulation goes up and hence many women experience frequent need to go to the loo for urination. Sometimes the urination is for more that 8 to 10 times.
Tiredness and Fatigue
In the initial first and half month you feel tired and uneasy and do not feel like doing any work at all. Your body is undergoing change inside and preparing itself for another life and hence the changes make you feel confused, uneasy and tired. This is also due to the changes in hormones. You get adjusted to these changes after a while.
Rise in body temperature
You may feel hot in the initial days of pregnancy as during the ovulation the temperature becomes high and stays at that temperature for a particular period. This can also be one of the signs of being pregnant.
Nausea and vomiting
Vomiting or nausea is considered as one of the most important symptom of pregnancy. This is also termed as early morning sickness in clinical terms and majority of women tend to face this problem. Although many times this goes away after some medication or as pregnancy progresses, many women keep on vomiting till the time of their delivery.
Likes and dislikes
A woman who has conceived has lot of mood swings. She instantly develops liking for certain things and dislikes for some.
Tender breasts and nipples
Breasts and nipples become tender in the earlier days of pregnancy and come back to normal as the pregnancy progresses.
So if you have any of the above symptoms then its better to watch a few days carefully and if you really feel that you are pregnant check out first with your lady doctor before declaring it to the world.
