How to use Cipla's MTP kit. Please give full dosage information when to take 1 tablet of Mifepristone…200 mg and after that how many hours i should take tablets of Misoprostol, each containing Misoprostol…200 mcg and how many tablets at a time
MTP Kit contains Mifepristone and Misoprostol Tablets
COMPOSITION
Each pack contains 5 tablets -
1 tablet of Mifepristone…200 mg
4 tablets of Misoprostol, each containing Misoprostol…200 mcg
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
MTP Kit is indicated for the medical termination of intrauterine pregnancy up to 63 days of gestation. For purposes of this treatment, pregnancy is dated from the first day of the last menstrual period in a presumed 28 days cycle with ovulation occurring at mid-cycle.
The duration of pregnancy may be determined from menstrual history and by clinical examination. Ultrasonographic scan should be used if the duration of pregnancy is uncertain, or if ectopic pregnancy is suspected.
Any intrauterine device [“IUD”] should be removed before treatment with mifepristone and misoprostol begins. Pregnancy termination by surgery is recommended in cases when
MTP Kit fails to cause termination of intrauterine pregnancy.
Mifepristone may be administered by or under the supervision of a gynaecologist, able to assess the gestational age of an embryo and to diagnose ectopic pregnancies. The gynaecologist must also be able to provide surgical intervention in cases of incomplete abortion or severe bleeding, or have made plans to provide such care through others, and be able to assure the patient access to medical facilities equipped to provide blood transfusions and resuscitation, if necessary.
The dosage is mifepristone 200 mg orally followed 1–3 days later by misoprostol 800 mcg
(4 tablets of 200 mcg) vaginally. The misoprostol may be administered by a clinician or
self-administered by the woman. For women at 49–63 days of gestation, if abortion has not occurred 4 hours after administration of misoprostol, a second dose of misoprostol 400 mcg
(2 tablets of 200 mcg) may be administered vaginally or orally (depending upon preference and amount of bleeding).
The patient should return for a follow-up visit approximately 14 days after the administration of mifepristone. This visit is very important to confirm by clinical examination or ultrasonographic scan that a complete termination of pregnancy has occurred.
Patients who have an ongoing pregnancy at this visit have a risk of foetal malformation resulting from the treatment. Surgical termination is recommended to manage medical abortion treatment failures.
GOOD EVENING I TOOK ONE DOSAGE OF MIFEPRISTONE 200MG YESTERDAY AND TODAY ABOUT 6PM I STARTED BLEEDING DO I STILL NEED TO ADMINISTERED VAGINALLY THE MISOPROSTOL OF 800MCG?
i have thyroid and i take thyroxin sodium tablets of 50mcg everyday . is it safe to take MTP kit medicines along with thyroid medicines ?

I am planning to take MTP KIT(Cipla).Can you please advice
1.Is taking Mifepristone 200 mg in orally and bleeding is start,then can we continue in Mifepristol (200 mg x 2) - pls suggest the time limit & safety measures

maam is this tablets r used for stopping.. pregnancy .... or it is used for adoration..
i m not able to get it.. coz.. it's been 48 hours since i did.. and i fearing that i may get pregnant... first time.. i did and worried will i get pregnant... in first attempt only will v get pregnant..???? plz.. tell me.. coz.. i already got d kit....but i dont no for what these tablets are used for...plz.. suggest me.. coz.. i have only 24 hours in hand..

Hi......i am 20 years old. and married too....i had unprotected sex with my husbnd. but i dont want to b pregnant now. so i had taken 1:2 mtp pills. i.e. firt one tablet and two more. but still not bleeding. can anybody tell me y is dis happning? wen will i get bleeding. m totaly worried. plz help me out wid dis.
