Abortion threatened is a condition which occurs before the 20th week of pregnancy. The condition depicts the possible chances of potential miscarriage. If during the 20th week of gestation, women experience vaginal bleeding, then chances of abortion becomes strong. An important fact is that it is not necessary that if women experience vaginal bleeding, then she is likely to face abortion. It has been observed that in 30% of cases despite experiencing vaginal bleeding, no abortion occurs. Some of the alternative names of the condition are threatened spontaneous abortion and threatened miscarriage.
